Join us again this year for World Wide Knit in Public Day, Saturday, June 14, 2025. This year marks the 20th anniversary of WWKIP Day, which was started in 2005 by DanielleLandes as a way for knitters to come togeterh and enjoy each other’s company. Shops around the globe get together on this day to celebrate the community aspect of knitting, crochet, and other crafts.

We’re hoping for a beautiful day so we can gather on the sidewalk in front of the shop. Come. Bring a chair and a project to work on. If the weather is inclement, we will meet inside the shop.

We will also be hosting indie dyer Crafter Gamer Geek for a week-l0ng trunk show week starting that day!

On September 28 and 29, 2019, Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA is hosting its annual Country Fairdescribed as "a heritage fall celebration featuring regional artisans, local farmers, and local food". There will be plenty of activities for young and old alike, including workshops, demonstrations, a talk on beekeeping, a hot sauce contest, as well as music and dancing. The kids can enjoy many activities such as face painting, egg tosses, balloon creations, and sack races. When you work up an appetite with all these activities, enjoy some delicious food.

The Fair also includes the annual Harvest of Quilts. Registration forms for the Harvest of Quilts are available on the Hancock Shaker website.

For the first time this year, the Fair includes A Fiber Festival with regional fiber artisans and enthusiasts, including The Warm Ewe, selling their wares in the iconic Round Stone Barn. Several fiber-related workshops will be offered, including one taught by our own Tempe!

Hancock Shaker Museum is located at 1843 West Housatonic St. in Pittsfield, MA. For more details and to register for a workshop or the Quilt Show, check out the Events section on the Village's website (hancockshakervillage.org).

Join us for this free knitting clinic where participants will knit squares to create an afghan or afghans that will be donated to the Family Resource Center of Columbia County here in Chatham.

The dates are Saturdays, Sept. 7, Sept. 21, and Sept. 28 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Museum. Tempe or Anne (or both) will be there, too. Don't worry - the Warm Ewe will be open and our community knit will continue here at the shop as usual on each Saturday.

Alexandra Berger has been teaching Gyrokenesis® and Gyrotonics® since 2007 and dancing since the age of 3. She is a member of the Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre(who will be performing at PS21 on August 17th and 18th) and Douglas Dunn & Dancers, among others. Her approach is to improve general health and well-being through movement. Her classes are healing and de-stressing rather than a workout.

Gyrokenesis® is a holistic approach to movement through gentle exercises based on the practice of yoga. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
